On behalf of Kaplan Law, our warmest regards,
📸 🪟 Kaplan Law : looking south down University Av. from Dundas St. W., above once tattle creek, st. patrick’s reach, later the armories then the ward, on land inhabited pre-colonially for over 10,000 years by indigenous peoples, and First Nations, Inuit and Métis people, Chippewa and Huron-Wendat people. I try to acknowledge this every day I spend time in my office blessed with this view and mindful of this land and my privilege and responsibilities; the Dish With One Spoon treaty (Gdoo – naaganinaa) between the Anishinaabe (ah-nish-naw-bek) [ojibwe] and Haudenosaunee (hoodt-en-oh-show-nee [iroquois]) and Mississaugas of the Credit, shares the territory and protects the land. Subsequent Indigenous Nations and Peoples, europeans and all newcomers have been invited into this treaty in the spirit of peace, friendship and respect.
